Shipwreck Mary Barrow |
|
The Mary Barrow was caught in a gale while carrying coal from Swansea to Cowes. When three miles off Trevose Head the ship lost nearly all its canvas and drifted in a helpless condition towards St. Ives where it was beached. The Mary Barrow was re-floated on 14 January 1908. |

James Crewdson, a distant relative of my wife, was Captain of the Mary Barrow, a schooner built in 1891. The Mary Barrow continued in service until 1938. |
